Kolkata, 14 July, 2021: West Bengal Government has launched a massive outreach programme called "Duare Sarkar" (government at doorstep) on December 1, 2020 to deliver benefits of state-run welfare schemes with slogan ' Jar jekhane darker, asche apnar Duare Sarkar '. The campaign was held between 1st December, 2020 and 30th January, 2021.
The programme aimed to bring few schemes of the state government to the doorsteps of the people such as Swasthya Sathi (Health scheme), Khadya Sathi (Public food distribution scheme) and Kanyashree scheme (a cash transfer scheme to the girls till the age of 18), Caste Certificates, Sikshashree, Jai Johar, TaposiliBandhu, Rupashree, Aikyashree and MGNREGS.
The former West Bengal Chief Secretary Alapan Bandhopadhyay has requested everyone from panchayat and ward-level people to join the "Duare Sarkar" campaign. Try to understand the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) and submit the papers accordingly. It was conducted through 20,000 camps in four phases to help people avail of scheme benefits. The campaign has got much popularity so far. Almost 90 lakh people have already received benefits of "Duare Sarkar" programme. The camps covered every gram panchayat and municipality ward at least once in each round.
"Duare Sarkar" programme ensured that every Bengal resident could avail of the Swasthya Sathi card which would entitle them to cashless treatment at both government and private hospitals up to Rs 5 lakh a year. This is a revolutionary step taken by the government to ensure no one is left out. The state government was able to ensure that beneficiaries from grassroot level get the benefits and their grievances were addressed through this campaign.
