A Rainy Morning
The summer night showed the morning to follow . It was a very hot night . There was no breath of air . It dawned with a sky overcast with black clouds . There blew a cool breeze all on a sudden . Soon followed the rain . The morning showers struck sharp . patter came the rain Pitter Sharp on the window - pane Down the roof in the drain . - All were in a hurry to close the doors and last the the windows . The rain fell in torrents for long three hours . Every moment lighting flashed with roars of clouds . Two or three times it thundered some - where in the near - by area . Ears pressed hard .
Water logged here and there . Roads turned into small streams . They became muddy . The colourful umbrellas queued up before the windows of milkbooths . Tea was getting late for want of milk . clouds floated away . The rain gradually died off . The blue appeared here and there in the sky . It was a charming morning - mild and cool . People now came out with shopping bags and folded umbrellas under their arms . Ponds and tanks looked overflowing . Little children floated their paper made boats on the water below the casement . Birds chirped merrily in the trees . Frogs started their morning songs to welcome the rain after the summer heat . Trees and plants appeared washed of dust and dirt . Flowers looked beautiful . A rainbow was seen bright in the morning sky . A rainy morning is a grand view . It is refreshing and pleasant . After a hot night , the rain in the morning is a fine It is more enjoyable , if it is with a hot coffee or tea .
