BIBHUTBHUSAN BANDYOPADHYAY:
BIBHUTBHUSAN BANDYOPADHYAY is famous for his book Pather Panchali. This Bengali writer was born on 12 September in 1894 at Muralipur in North 24 parganas.
His parents were Mahannda Bandopadhyay and Mrinalini Debi. He had his early education at Bangaon High School. Next he was admitted to Ripon College, now known as Surendranath college, Kolkata.
He passed BA from the college. He started his career as a teacher. He worked as Headmaster of Jangipur and Harinavi Anglo Sanskrit Institution.
He served as the Assistant Estate Superintendent of Bhagalpur. He wrote many stories, essays, novels such as Pather Panchali, Aparajita Aranyak, Ichamati, etc.
He died on 1st September 1950. He was awarded Rabindra Purashkar after his death. His Pather Panchali was famous in the film-world.
